The next year, by Spring of 1439 BC the Tabernacle went up at Mt. Sinai but there were no crops to present as first fruits offerings.
In the 20th day of the second month of 1439 BC God’s pillar of clouds moved of the tabernacle. The Israelites broke camp and headed toward Kadesh Barnea, just to the south of the promised land.
There were some troublesome pit stops on the way and their sin had to be dealt with by God. Yet when they arrived in Kadesh Barnea that same year they set up the tabernacle of God first, then they sent 12 spies into Canaan for 40 days. Ten of the spies turned out to be faithless and cowardly; They came back with a bad report that caused the Israelites to reject God’s land. Therefore God immediately decreed that that generation of adults would die in the dessert without entering the land.
It was still 1439 BC. There were about million Israelites. Planting season for Barley began in October. Kadesh Barnea was an oasis with many underground springs capable of supporting their livestock. They’d been lusting for food besides manna ever since they left Egypt; And the adults has come to know that they weren’t ever going into the land of milk and honey. So it only makes sense that they began planting their crops as soon as they could..
If they sowed barley and wheat in the fall of 1438 BC then they’d reap them in 1437 BC.
So that means that they will have first fruits to present to God in the tabernacle starting in the Spring of 1437 BC.
That means that God’s calendar, the part of it which is based upon land-rest every 7th year, called the Sabbatical or Shmita year, could have been established in 1437 BC when the first fruits were first offered to God in His Tabernacle.
So then 1431 BC would’ve been the 7th year on the agricultural part of God’s Torah calendar; That would’ve been the first land rest, the first Shmita or Sabbatical year.
Now we count forward by Shmita cycles until the Year of Jesus Christ’s anointing:
In the Daniel 9:24 70 weeks prophesy, the reason the angel separated out the first 7 years of the 483 years from the decree to the anointing of the Messiah, was to make it clear that Shmita cycles were being used. That meant Christ would be anointed on a Sabbatical year. (And the final 7 years would be after a gap.)
The easiest way to count forward from 1437 BC by units of seven to see if 27AD falls on a Sabbatical year, is to use Jubilee Cycles of 49 yrs or Great Jubilee Cycles of 490 years. (See post 4. The Countdown to learn how we know that God started counting time in 490 yr. units with Moses.)
I used 2 x 490yrs = 980 yrs. Then I added the 483 years from the decree of the Persian King to the anointing of Jesus as the Christ. 980 + 483 = 1463 years
We must do 1463 minus . . . since there is no year zero, we must use ‘-1436’ instead of ‘1437 BC’
1463 – 1436 = 27 That’s the year 27 AD!
See the bottom of Post 4. The Countdown https://alephtav.blog/4-last7yrs/at mark 4.34 – 4.39 to see why the relevant decree is King Artaxerxes 1st 457 BC decree!
